What We Do
What We Do
I have worked in product development since 1978 creating footwear and non-footwear products. Through the years I have worked with various marketing divisions, designers and dreamers to create POP displays, consumer products, new footwear technologies and just about anything else you could dream up using CAD and 3D printing.
Our Mission
To make your idea come to life, quickly, efficiently and as inexpensively as possible.
This is an interview that I did for Solidworks Corporation.
Learn how SolidWorks helped Wolverine Worldwide Inc. design shoes for some well known footwear brands like Hush Puppies, Merrell, and Wolverine. See the complete case study at: http://files.solidworks.com/casestudies_eng/pdf/Wolverine.FINAL.pdf?scid=sm_yt_Wolverine
This is a project that Carrie Hill worked on while I was at Wolverine. I needed to reverse engineer the shoe last and the heel from an old pair of boots that she had purchased on E-Bay. I scanned the poured last after it had hardened. I then sent the 3D data to Jones & Vining and they made the actual last from that. The heel data was sent to our 3D printer to make the sample. The reverse engineering process starts at about 1:48.
Sometimes looking to the past can help with modern innovation. Homage to history can reveal a great deal as a foundation to leap from. Wolverine's 1000 Mile Collection has been researching and gathering their information from fashions of days ago to create their new line.
